sandman42b 2017-11-13 23:16:38 What's the best logging tool to forward from a docker logging driver and parsing for multiline? mainly java stack traces. I'm working with fluentd and fluent bit and they're both not working out for me. Regex pattern matching that works in don't behave the same in those two tools
tamas 2017-11-14 07:57:28 I used fluentd with multiline regex and it worked for me.
acsrujan 2017-11-14 08:43:20 Just saw this.. pretty late.. How about netdata? It’s light weight, no sever and agent, etc.
lzivadinovic 2017-11-14 09:59:24 @acsrujan Thanks, will give it a more detailed look later today. but from github page it looks promising.

I'm not well versed with syslog (rsyslog in this case), what would cause messages to escape to the terminal I've SSHd to? My rsyslog config just says 'everything goes to files'
but for some reason, logs from this device, configured identically, keeps interrupting my sessions
I have a log server, which just accepts logs and stores them for hundreds of servers
 jlaunchd System reaching processes....[message truncated]
Message from syslogd@bbr-am1 at Nov 14 10:55:00 ...
terbolous 2017-11-14 11:51:52 Just signed up for a trial, I am currently looking for a monitoring tool. First feature request: Would be great to be group monitors together for sharing settings (like alert settings). If I have 200 monitors I don't want to individually edit their settings Second feature request: make reports downloadable  For instance by assigning tags or something to checks
sandman42b 2017-11-14 14:03:59 @tamas would you be willing to share your config please?
tamas 2017-11-14 14:51:07 I’m sorry but I don’t have access to the code anymore. :disappointed:
luis985 2017-11-14 15:07:31 checkout snapd from intel, written in go, made to scrape this kind of data, plugins to popular frontends
hobo548 2017-11-14 17:06:56 +1 on netdata, simple and lightweight with cool features on the horizon iirc
lzivadinovic 2017-11-15 13:04:34 @acsrujan It looks amazing. I installed it on my server. RAM usage is 35 mb and <1% CPU. I'm using defaults because i only need CPU alert if usage go over 90%. Thanks again!
hipska 2017-11-15 15:50:27 Any of you who knows of the existance of a "monitoring" Slack team? Kind of like but a Slack instead of forum
sumolincoln 2017-11-16 01:56:59 (yes I work there, yes I'm biased, but I think you'll like it, and it's the _only_ Docker Certified logging engine)
danops 2017-11-16 11:42:54 @hipska you're in it
hipska 2017-11-16 11:43:20 This is DevOps team :stuck_out_tongue:
