ericgj 2017-10-11 21:19:44 or there's Navigation.modifyUrl or newUrl if you don't necessarily want a reload from the server but just to change the current page client-side. that's what elm-spa-example uses for example, here:
luke 2017-10-11 21:21:19 yeah you can use separate notification settings for desktop and mobile anyway the point is i don't want anyone to feel like they're bothering me by sharing ellies in slack :stuck_out_tongue: so i have things mostly turned off on desktop but normal on mobile
ilias 2017-10-11 21:23:30 Gotcha. Probably a good idea, reading _everything_ does get tiring after a while
luke 2017-10-11 21:28:22 for sure, although i totally did for a little while for instance, you are are by far the most prolific user in slack the coolest thing is seeing the patterns

mbuscemi 2017-10-11 21:31:15 Inline the union with the other fields. Well, that does it apparently. I salute your ingenuity.
ilias 2017-10-11 21:36:03 @mbuscemi it's useful to realize that field only runs the decoder you pass it in the scope of the field you give it - i.e. you can use this property to decode something like { "type": "dog", "name": "fluffy" } into a type Animal = Dog String | Cat String by doing field "type" string |> andThen animalFromTypeDecoder , which is different from something like field "type" (string |> andThen ..) . Does that make sense?
thomasin 2017-10-11 21:40:28 wooo i did it :tada: thanks for help everyone
mbuscemi 2017-10-11 21:45:45 Yup. 2017-10-11 21:54:15 Maybe issue. Anyone knows what the issue is here.
gilbert 2017-10-11 21:56:39 content("a") should be (content "a") 2017-10-11 21:57:41 Thanks. compiler was right about message "left to right". I totally did not see it.
eteotti 2017-10-11 21:59:42 Hi, I am trying to find an example of using Elm (0.18) for an HTTP JSON post. What's the best resource for that? Thanks!
mbuscemi 2017-10-11 22:00:49 I would also like to mention that type Thing = Spoon Int | Knife String is one of one my new favorite things (at least in terms of paradigmatic exemplification).
ilias 2017-10-11 22:06:03 It's hard to come up with examples, sometimes  I'm also not sure why mom would be manufacturing spoons
