antonkom 2017-12-19 08:27:17 Where can I post questions about this module? Seems importing stuff is not working for me with new plugin. =( Seems like this is not implemented yet. =((( Is there a plugin channel?
zoutsnuifer 2017-12-19 14:35:08 @akoppela the demo code is here: https://github.com/JordyMoos/elm-pageloader-demo-site and the library code is here: https://github.com/JordyMoos/elm-pageloader and here on package.elm-lang.org : http://package.elm-lang.org/packages/JordyMoos/elm-pageloader/latest
justgage 2017-12-19 15:26:21 @chadtech I think this talk is awesome at explaining the challenges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKNwAPrdGCwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKNwAPrdGCw it was meant for React but I think it applies well.
brianhicks 2017-12-19 16:58:22 elm-benchmark 2.0.0 is out! https://discourse.elm-lang.org/t/elm-benchmark-2-0-0/294
klazuka 2017-12-19 17:22:23 if you run into problems, you should create an issue on the Github project. In the case of the "add-import" quick-fix, I already have an issue for it ( https://github.com/klazuka/intellij-elm/issues/2 ).
billstclair 2017-12-19 18:43:50 Somehow I missed the announcement of https://discourse.elm-lang.org/ . Cool. RSS feed parses. Should appear in about 15 minutes at https://lisplog.org/aggregator/
brianhicks 2017-12-19 19:22:27 it hasn't been announced here yet. We're waiting for now. Would you mind removing it again?
janiczek 2017-12-19 20:16:38 Benchmark with quite nice results for Elm: The bundle size surprised me! https://medium.freecodecamp.org/a-real-world-comparison-of-front-end-frameworks-with-benchmarks-e1cb62fd526c
mfeineis 2017-12-19 20:49:34 interesting butI find the last part a little misleading since they equal lines of count to maintainability issues, they don't know Elm yet :elm:
chadtech 2017-12-19 20:51:29 Nice! Thank you Ill give that a watch.
mfeineis 2017-12-19 20:54:42 the size doesn't surprise me, especially angular is notorious, they put so much effort into ahead-of-time but there's so much stuff in there that you have to have available at runtime if you want to have working real world app. React also comes with so much cruft that you need for a real world app. Sends shivers down my spine when I think of the ES8+, JSX, React, Redux build pipeline at work - but there is still tranquillity and beauty at home... elm-make src/Main.elm --output=dist/app.js
nqthqn 2017-12-19 20:54:54 I agree. Elm is simply more verbose and formatted in a way to make git diffs easier.
rlking 2017-12-19 20:55:31 Does anyone know a way to count characters in a codebase, instead of lines? I feel like I write less code in Elm compared to JS but these comparisons are (almost) never in favour of Elm
mfeineis 2017-12-19 20:55:34 jepp, and the more type annotation you have the better the maintainability I've never heard of such a specifc metric :slightly_smiling_face:
nqthqn 2017-12-19 20:56:19 wc I wonder if it counts the compiled Elm or the source elm?
