yomateo 2017-09-14 11:08:47 That'll give you time to see how things look & feel before you start adding auto-scaling to the picture/iteratively adding capabilities Gives me more separation of concerns when going through complex implementations in a more controlled fashion
vladionescu 2017-09-14 11:10:43 Oh, ok.
yomateo 2017-09-14 11:11:27 a good example is running ffmpeg in a container to live record ip camera streams and encode them to hls on disk Sounds like you're definitely moving with some traction one container, one recording, one camera
vladionescu 2017-09-14 11:16:08 Yeah, I'm leaning towards kubernetes, but there are a lot of moving parts and services and stuff that can break. And that has to be learnt. On th eother side, proper resource utilization and awesome features.
yomateo 2017-09-14 11:27:07 Helm charts are an attempt to alleviate some of the pain .. but on the flip side thee is a learning curve as well.. eventually you run into way too many abstractions and are ready to give up heh
dusan76shi 2017-09-14 11:45:15 hey folks, do you recommend https://kubernetes.io/docs/getting-started-guides/scratch as a proper novice guide? :slightly_smiling_face: Im running centos7
ziggy_tnkng 2017-09-14 11:46:00 I found Kelsey's guide have a nicer flow to it... depends on what you want to do... @dusan76shi try minikube if you're just starting... perhaps.
dusan76shi 2017-09-14 11:46:44 as far as im into this, I want to do just test cluster with 2 or 3 nodes and 1 master, overlay with CNI plugin

yomateo 2017-09-14 11:48:40 Not to mention how badly your environment gets polluted when doing a native install of everything using these hacked up mass of one-liners heh
