nukepuppy 2018-03-21 18:21:13 what are you keeping on disk then o.O you just need it for the ones that do i imagine
daniel.lohin 2018-03-21 18:21:34 We currently are using hostpath for that one mostly to “test” charts that assume you have it For the reason I am trying to make the pvc.. it is helm because we have it as a daemonset
nukepuppy 2018-03-21 18:22:12 https://github.com/kubernetes-incubator/external-storage/tree/master/local-volume id say it looks.. at least like you can do what you need.. non production grade they even have it via helm try out whats in the code base i mean pilot it ..
daniel.lohin 2018-03-21 18:23:28 yeah.. this is for home things only my wife yells at me when I blow up the network
kensey 2018-03-21 18:23:51 Also I think most helm charts that implement PVC I think allow you to just turn it off and they use emptyDirs dlohin: in my case it was every time I downloaded sets of distro ISOs for RHEL... her Netflix would start fuzzing out :slightly_smiling_face:
nukepuppy 2018-03-21 18:25:07 @daniel.lohin build one of these: ?q=raspberry+pi+kubernetes+cluster&client=firefox-b-1-ab&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi1vfz1hP7ZAhVvkeAKHeR1A34Q_AUICigB&biw=1390&bih=727&dpr=2 cheaper on power
daniel.lohin 2018-03-21 18:25:39 I have one box that hosts a VM running pfsense which routes all our traffic
nukepuppy 2018-03-21 18:25:40 man that was a copypasta failure for sure but a raspberry pi cluster is nice :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
daniel.lohin 2018-03-21 18:25:57 yesterday.. I thought need to reboot… Why you messing with the Internet dad (wife totally sent him) to install patches 10 seconds later my 5 year old comes down yelling about his Internet
joebeau93 2018-03-21 18:26:39 I have to go through an HTTPS proxy to get out of my box, how do I tell Kubectl where it's root ca is for exiting network?
nukepuppy 2018-03-21 18:27:22 i like that that project is showing you a POC with ram disks ! you guys need to implement QoS on your networks or your wives are going to kill you apparently. also interesting if you had a huge amount of ram and you needed a RAMSAN! so you can definitely get to playing with it .. in an interesting way done
    mount -t tmpfs $vol /mnt/disks/$vol
    mkdir /mnt/disks/$vol
$ for vol in vol1 vol2 vol3; do
$ mkdir /mnt/disks
kensey 2018-03-21 18:41:33 @joebeau93 I'm not honestly sure if you can -- I don't see a kubectl argument for it
joebeau93 2018-03-21 18:41:49 -___-
kensey 2018-03-21 18:41:57 @nukepuppy what I need is gigabit fiber :slightly_smiling_face:
